PsychoSafe - Assessment of Factors Fostering the Development of Psychological Safety in Teams

Welcome to PsychoSafe – Your Tool for Assessing Organisational Factors Supporting Psychological Safety

PsychoSafe is a free audit tool designed to assess the universal organisational and working conditions that can foster the development of psychological safety in teams and organisations.

Psychological safety is shaped not only by everyday interactions within a team, but also by the organisational conditions in which people work. Clear processes, safe and appropriate working conditions, reliable technology, transparent communication, ethical standards and support for employee wellbeing can all contribute to creating an environment that supports psychological safety. PsychoSafe focuses on these organisational factors.

Conducting the audit is the first step toward understanding the current conditions in your company or team, and identifying which factors are worth strengthening in order to enhance the sense of psychological safety in the workplace or within a specific team.

Based on your answers, an automatic report will be generated, summarizing overall results and results for each dimension, with interpretations, identified strengths, areas for improvement, and practical recommendations to enhance psychological safety in your organisation, team or department.

The audit can be conducted by:

  • the business owner/employer
  • a manager or team leader (assessment of their own team).

To ensure meaningful results, the audit should be completed by a person who has sufficient knowledge of the organisation or team and of the areas being assessed.

The tool is intended for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly those working in distributed teams operating in hybrid or remote models.

About the Online Tool

The PsychoSafe Tool was developed by a team of experts in psychology and human resources from four countries: Poland, Cyprus, Spain, and Italy, within the framework of the project Healthy and productive hybrid workplace environment in small and medium-sized enterprises – well-beINTeam. This initiative is coordinated by OIC POLAND Foundation of WSEI University in cooperation with EUROSUCCESS CONSULTING (Cyprus), Macrix (Poland), Wyde (Italy), and SMARTUP (Spain).

PsychoSafe and TeamSafe – two complementary perspectives

PsychoSafe is designed to be used together with TeamSafe – The Team Psychological Safety Measurement Tool. The two tools examine different but complementary aspects of psychological safety:

TeamSafe focuses on the experience of psychological safety within the team. It measures how team members perceive and experience areas such as honesty, constructive feedback, learning from mistakes, open communication and transparency, and productive conflict. It therefore provides insight into the psychological safety experienced and perceived by team members.

PsychoSafe focuses on the conditions that can support psychological safety. It examines organisational, structural, technological, legal, ergonomic, communication and wellbeing-related factors that may create a safer environment for people to speak up, cooperate, learn and take interpersonal risks.

To get a full picture of your organization or team, we advise you to use both questionnaires.
